Mapping a Network Drive in Windows

This document will show users step-by-step how to map a network drive.

1. Click Start in the lower left hand corner of your screen. In the start screen, click on the Computer name (ex. ADM-W400401 or My Computer). Once the My Computer window has appeared, click Map Network Drive on the top left hand side of the window. You may have to click on the computer tab in the top left corner of the window if you don't see this option immediately.

2.  If you want the drive to always connect at sign-in (make the drive mapping permanent), then select/check  “Reconnect at sign-in.”
If you want this drive to appear one time only uncheck “Reconnect at sign-in”.
Specify which folder you would like to map. If you don't know the exact name, select the browse button.
     For example, \\citpfile07\GROUPS

4. When prompted, enter your username (firstname.lastname) and password. Click OK when you are done.
5. Your Folder or Drive will be mapped and it should appear in a new window once you have finished.
