Class Climate - Reporting Survey Results
This document explains how an administrator can distribute the results of Class Climate course evaluations to instructors, Deans, and Department Chairs.
Class Climate is a campus enterprise course evaluation system used by UW Colleges to evaluate instructors for purposes of tenure, promotion, merit, and retention. The Student Survey of Instruction program is governed by UW Colleges Senate Policy 301.01, Administering the Student Survey of Instruction. Course evaluations will be administered for all courses every third semester, and may be administered for other courses upon request.
After course evaluation surveys have been generated (see Generating Print or Generating Online Surveys), filled out by participants, collected, and scanned, an administrator needs to log in to Class Climate and send evaluation results to the course instructor, Dean, and Department Chair.
Note: You must confirm that grades for the semester have been entered before you share survey results with the instructor.
Login to Class Climate at http://survey.uwex.uwc.edu using the username and the password that was provided to you.
B) Distribute Reports
Use Class Climate’s Batch Events menu to create and distribute reports of course evaluation reports.
1) Click on Subunits in the Main Menu, then Batch Events in the left-hand column.
2) On the Batch Events menu, choose the following:
Send PDF reports as instructor profiles – This option lets you email reports to the email addresses of your choice. This option gives you one summary report for every instructor.
Hide surveys with documents which have already been sent: Check this box to ignore surveys you've already printed. Uncheck it to find surveys that you might have already printed.
Subunit – Select your campus. For most people, only one subunit will appear. Ex: UW Marinette.
Survey Period - Select the current semester. Ex: Fall 2015 is FS 15/16.
Course Type - Most courses will be under Course Type: Lecture or Others. To view all courses available in your subunit, hold down the Ctrl or Shift key while you click to select more than one course.
Questionnaire – SSI-term (for paper surveys) or SSI-UWCO1 (for online surveys)
Course - Scroll to the course(s) you wish to survey. Hold down the Ctrl or Shift key while you click to select more than one course.
Include answers to open questions - Check this to see individual students’ answers to the open-ended (text box) questions.
Also send single PDF reports – Check this box to send reports for each individual course.
Send all to the following email addresses –Send reports in an email to any email address(es) you choose. For example, you could email the reports to yourself, and then send them to the instructor and the Regional or Campus Dean from your own email account.
3) Click Request. The email will be sent automatically.
4) The recipients will receive emails with attached PDF reports.
