The document edit screen previously included a separate field to store notes for internal audiences. Because the same end result can be more easily achieved with the use of internal content restriction tags in the document body, we have retired this field and will be converting affected content automatically.

If your group had previously been using this field in one or more documents, you do not need to take any direct action. Any text or HTML content that had previously been entered in this field will be automatically moved to the end of the document “Body” field and wrapped in internal content restriction tags the next time you edit it.

The “Internal Notes” heading will also be added inside of the content restriction tags, so affected documents should look and function exactly the same way as before.

We expect that handling all internal notes within the body field will offer two key improvements:

  1. Authors will no longer need to check a separate field to find content that needs to be edited
  2. The heading size can be modified according to the overall document structure, which allows for better accessibility
